The chapter needs people to help out, and there are many ways that you can
make a personal contribution. To get started, please call 718-224-2999 (press 0 for operator) or e-mail us at ts@tsact.org. You can also
complete the online information request form.
Some ideas (come up with your own):
- Share your news.
Achieve a measure of fame and write something for our newsletter or
the Web site. Personal vignettes about Tourette Syndrome, success stories
about your TS child or poetry created by your child are great ways to touch
people in our chapter. And don't worry if your writing is a bit rusty. Our
editor will help to make you look great.
- Volunteer some time.
This can be one-off, say, pitching in at a special event, or ongoing.
You can even organize your own special event.
- Start a support group.
Anyone can organize a group. You don't need to have professional
training, just a willingness to share your experiences about TS. We'll help
you to get started.
- Join the board.
People with special interests or skills enhance the chapter's ability
to serve the TS community. Board members offer a regular commitment of time,
but it's not like getting a second job. You can make an important
contribution by devoting a few hours here and there.
