Active Volunteers

  • Donna Blain, M.A., CCC-A
Donna is an audiologist licensed in Connecticut and Massachusetts. She works in special education for children with hearing loss and has over 15 years of experience with the special education process. Donna has been a parent advocate since 1991, advising both parents and school systems serving children with hearing loss, ensuring that these children receive appropriate services so they can learn in the classroom. She now also volunteers as an advocate for parents who have children with Tourette Syndrome, having learned in 2002 that her son, who was six years old at the time, had TS. Her goal is to provide education to families and schools so that children with TS will develop a healthy sense of self and be able to learn well in the classroom.

  • Joanne Cohen, LCSW
Joanne is the executive director and an active member of the online support group as well. She also covers the Chapter's phone line. She is a clinical social worker who has TS herself.

  • Lynn Siegel, M.S.
Lynn creates and maintains a web presence that she hopes members find interesting and informative.

  • Patty Brockett
Patty has been an R.N. for 20+ years, and became involved in CT TSA in order to increase her knowledge of the disorder and to help and support her family members and their school. She has attended training to be an education advocate, enabling her to provide support and education to other families and schools.
